| 27 February So I took a photo of myself so you can see my new specs. Tell me what you think! I have a concert on Sunday evening, which should be good. I am singing with some others, but then also singing a song solo; watch this space and hopefully I will have a video for you. 18 February A weekend trip to Brussels to buy new glasses. Strange but true! You see, in Geneva, a pair of spectacle frames cost upwards of 270chf. A pair of ultra-thin lenses cost around 590chf. In Brussels, my spectacle frames cost 60 euro, and the lenses cost 130 euro. Thats a total of 300chf, as opposed to 860. So, even with airfares, and a hotel, I was ahead going to Brussels to get my new specs! And I got to eat at an interesting restaurant called Chez Oki, which is fusion French/Japanese and got to try foie gras sushi. I also went to an amazing exhibition of jewellry. Called "Brilliant europe". It was an exhibition of jewels of significance to the history of Europe. There were over 200 pieces, celebrating 800 years of jewellry. There were crown jewels and tiaras which were simply amazing. So many diamonds... so many shiny things! I was really lucky to catch the exhibition, which finished on the day I saw it. Here are a few highlights - I wasn't sure if photos were permitted, but there weren't any signs saying I shouldn't, and noone stopped me...
The catalogue was 39 euro which is pretty expensive, but in retrospect I rather wish I had bought it. Next christmas present?
